DESIGNING ONE’S OWN SPACE - Milan - italy
2013 - SCENOGRAPHy
Another way of open space living, breaking with the usual totalitarian and repetitive nature of office systems. The reception area contains a baseline series of industrial pieces of furniture; these can be stacked, taken apart and reassembled. Put together to reconfigure the space, they are not mutually exclusive: they combine with furniture from different eras, with other objects from different spheres. It is an open space, enabling everyone to express themselves freely, to build their own workspace: cut off from their neighbours or in close proximity, and to adopt different behaviours, such as hunkering down, sitting at or climbing on their desks. It is also a negation of total design: different varieties of
wood, cardboard, leather and coloured plastic coexist, crowned with atypical and unexpected objects, marking out an irregular and astonishing cityscape.
