Mia auction at RBC Design Center
The Mia chair range, created especially by Jean Nouvel for the eponymous restaurant located inside the fencing atMontpellier’s RBC DESIGN CENTRE, whose architecture bears Jean Nouvel’s signature, was a headline event. The armchair had been given to 37 artists, who generously agreed to revisit it, subvert it, transform it, stylize it, customize it freely, so that the chairs could then be sold off at a special auction. The proceeds went to children’s associations, VELa Coupeand Ampa.
37 artists and designers took part in the project: Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Pierre-Marie Brisson, Jérôme Brunet, Benôit Chaleas, Jean-Paul Chambas, Alain Clément, Lucien Clergue, Denis 22, Thibault Desombre, Catherine Duplaix, Michel Duport, François Fontes, Formica, Edouard François, Jakob+Mac Farlane, Dominique Gauthier, Francis Guerrier, Christian Ghion, Marie Hugo, Loic Le Floc’h alias FENX, Arik Levy, Maxime Lhermit, Jean-Marie Massaud, Jean Nouvel, Laurent Pallatier, Stéphane Pencreac’h, Christophe Pillet, Ayguavives Popay, Magi Puig, Bernard Quentin, Rudy Ricciotti, Hervé di Rosa, Soizick Martin, Anton Solomoukha, Jeanne Susplugas, Caroline Tapernoux and Isabelle Zutter.
The auction made over 50,000 euros.
