FROM THE RATIONAL TO THE HUMAN - Milan - italy
2013 - SCENOGRAPHy
A proposal for high-tech and open plan offices. Aim: to recreate transformation and appropriation possibilities while conforming to normality and to rational standardisation. The footprint, which may seem static and repetitive, is in fact free-form: the walls are sliding and collapsible. Everyone can build and make their office their own (14 m2): change the walls, open out into the adjacent space or the corridor or contrive isolation.
The doors are sliding or folding, there are blinds for light regulation, with frosted glass for intimacy. A luxurious and warm environment is achieved, with sophisticated wood and chrome finishings imparting the feel of a super yacht: a high-tech telescopic table, shelves fixed to glass walls. Freedom and appropriation are achieved: lots of things pinned up, boards fixed to the walls for organisational purposes and personal and professional pictures. It conveys a total yet generous indset, geared to enjoyment in life. A vehicle for a rational and humanist vision.
