2013 - table lamp - ARTEMIDE
This is a light composed of three cyclinders stacked on top of each other and operating at different levels.
The top level exploits passive light through a smart optical unit that sheds soft light over the work surface.
The middle level is operational, with an optical unit that can rotate a full 360° on a horizontal axis, allowing light to be directed at different areas of the work surface.
The third, base, level opens up to its surroundings through indirect light emission, adjustable on a vertical axis between 0° and 45°.
We no longer get excited about seeing how an airplane flies or what the workings of a watch look like. Today it is technology that allows us to hide the technical aspect. Just think of the flat screens of the new TV sets: the ‘engine’ has been miniaturized, nothing remains but the image. It is the aesthetics of miracle
