Chelsea, or the evocation of a handprint.
Chelseais an ambiguous object, a handle wrap, that reintroduces the pleasure of taking something in hand, having preserved the print of the hand that moulded it.
Door handles are generally straight, cold and unpleasant in the hand. In my buildings, I always look for handles that have a distinct identity–that is, shape and tactility. A handle is a detail that adds depth to a place.
